Director Eli Roth has revealed the cast for his live reading of the 1982 teen comedy “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” which will close the Los Angeles Film Festival on Thursday.

Lily Collins (“Mirror Mirror”) and Haley Joel Osment (“The Sixth Sense,” “Entourage”) will portray siblings Stacy and Brad Hamilton, the insecure sophomore and popular-ish senior played by Jennifer Jason Leigh and Judge Reinhold in the Amy Heckerling-directed original. (Cameron Crowe wrote the script.)

Kumail Nanjiani (HBO’s “Silicon Valley”) will play would-be ladies’ man Mike Damone, frequent Roth collaborator Lorenza Izzo will portray the infamous bombshell Linda Barrett, and Daryl Sabara (“Spy Kids”) will play shy dork Mark Ratner.

Aaron Burns, who has worked with Roth on both sides of the camera, will play jock Charles Jefferson, and social-media celebrities Logan Paul and Nik Keswani will play stoner Jeff Spicoli and his brother, Curtis.

Last but not least, rock musician Courtney Love is on board as the uptight teacher Mr. Hand.

In a statement to The Times, Roth said: “Everyone in the reading is going to bring something really special to their role. The original cast is so iconic you cannot replace them, but we can do a really fun alternate version of the movie with everyone interpreting the characters in their own unique way.”

Lily Collins admires her boyfriend Taylor Lautner.

The actress says she loves the way the Twilight actor — her costar in upcoming Abduction — deals with his legions of fans.

“I hope if I ever have to deal with fame I handle it with the grace that Taylor Lautner does,” Lily said.

“He had 600 girls waiting outside the set for him one night and we didn’t finish filming until about 5am but he still went out for over an hour and signed all the autographs and posed for photographs. He’s extremely handsome and I like a guy who isn’t afraid to be himself. A sense of humor is important and I like someone who is confident and can show vulnerability as well as being strong.”

Lily — whose dad is rock legend Phil Collins — then opened up about her family life.

“I don’t believe there’s such a thing as a ‘normal’ family nowadays,” she said.

“My siblings range in age from six to 39. I have three half-brothers and a half-sister, and it’s really fun getting together. The two little ones are running around playing games and laughing and we all watch movies together. Two of them are living in Canada, I’m in LA and my two little brothers are in Switzerland.

“I believe in working for what you get. Then when you get it you feel like you’ve earned it. My parents didn’t buy me loads of stuff as a child and I’ve been taught not to take things for granted and be smart about how I spend my money. I still have the same car I’ve had since I was a teenager. It is a grey Land Rover Freelander that my parents got me — they wanted something sturdy. Money isn’t important to me. My mum and dad have kept me down to earth and very focused.”

Taylor Lautner has said that he was blown away by Lily Collins while working with her on Abduction. Talking to MTV News, the Twilight actor revealed that he came to rely on Collins during some of the film’s more difficult scenes.

“I didn’t know her very well. I had met her a couple [of] times, but she blew me away. She was awesome,” he said. “She’s extremely talented. Whenever [my character] Nathan crumbles, she has to always be there to support him. And she was.”

He went on to reveal that their strong bond allowed him to feel comfortable while shooting scenes which required the actors to share a romantic kiss.

“I mean, I think it depends. It depends on the person and your vibe together, ’cause sometimes it can totally be awkward,” he explained. “But if you’re in the moment and you are literally living these characters, you forget about everything else, then it’s fine. It was totally fine.”

Lautner and Collins were also linked in real life, with reports that they had begun dating first surfacing in November 2010.

Fresh off of the big announcement that she’s set to play Snow White, Lily Collins is featured in the May 2011 issue of Nylon.

Tossing on a few outfits from top designers such as Ann Taylor, the darling young actress happily posed for a photo spread accompanying the magazine’s interview.

As for her chat, Miss Collins spoke about her hopes of getting into comedic films, as she said, “I’ve become obsessed with improv. I grew up watching a lot of old Steve Martin comedies; John Cleese – my dad loves all that.”

The 22-year-old also commented on her hopes of keeping level-headed as she gains more stardom, telling, “I feel it’s easy in a place like LA, or in this business, to start to take things for granted and feel like it becomes too normal – and it’s not normal!”

She added, “I hope it never becomes nomal.”

The 21-year-old actress Lily Collins (yep, her father is Phil Collins) made her big-screen debut in “The Blind Side” as Sandra Bullock’s daughter. On May 13 you can see her in the sci-fi thriller “Priest,” opposite Stephen Moyer, Paul Bettany and Cam Gigandet. When she’s not on set, she spends her free time traveling the globe with her mother, Jill Tavelman Collins. For her, it’s a great way to sharpen her acting chops: “Going all around the world is the best way to pick up traits,” she says. “It’s a kind of crazy people-watching.”

Q. Let’s talk about your next project, the mystery-thriller “Mortal Instruments.” You’re back with the director Scott Charles Stewart, whom you worked with on “Priest.”
A.“Mortal Instruments” is so different than other things that I’ve done, and I’m a huge fan of the novelist Cassandra Clare’s books, I’ve read all of them. It’s very different to be able to read the books, and put myself in Clary Fray’s shoes. It’s very strange to be reading it and go, ‘Wow, I’m going to get to do that, and that’s going to be me.’ It’s a great mix of dark, gritty, kind of gothic, as well as, you know, the sunny teenage years.

Where are you filming?
It is one of the very rare occasions that we’ll be shooting in L.A., which for me is home. My mom is in L.A., she and I are very, very, very close.

You left England for L.A. at a very young age. Do you miss it?
I do, I love England. I moved to L.A. before I turned 6, and I try to go back for Christmas and in the summer. I grew up in the countryside out there, which is very different than city life in L.A., and when I go back I start to pick up my accent again a little bit. I sound very American and very L.A., but I am very, very British.

And you have a very European look, but you have those California locks, too.
I definitely have the pale skin. For “Priest,” it’s funny, because I actually dyed my hair red and that is the hardest color to maintain. I was completely red and pale, and people were like, “Are you Irish?”

You travel a lot?
Yes, actually. My mom and I, that’s kind of our favorite thing to do. It was obviously very different when I was in school and had a school schedule — you had spring break and you had Christmas break — and now it’s different ’cause it’s more, “When am I not working?” I would study something in school, and she would say, “Oh, you’re studying African civilization. Do you want to go to Africa for spring break?” And so we would. We went on an African safari, went to Brazil, Egypt, India, Japan, just to experience all the different cultures and really immerse ourselves in it. Traveling is really great people-watching. The best way to pick up traits and analyze what someone other than yourself would do in a situation is by watching other people. So being able to travel all around the world and see that is — I feel very fortunate that I can participate in that kind of crazy people-watching.

The Traveler: Lily Collins, the 22-year-old actress — and daughter of Genesis’s Phil — is kidnapped by vampires in the sci-fi thriller “Priest” (out May 13).

The Trip: Unlike most rocker progeny, Collins sleeps in a tent when she goes to Africa. The rain forest? A hut. And when in India, she gets to know the locals in the “crazy amazing temples.”

The Look: Guillaume Henry’s printed cotton dress is part of Carven’s spring collection, which was inspired by the idea of travel to all corners of the world.

Lily has made it onto Moviehole‘s list of actors to watch out for in 2011! Here’s what they had to say.

4. Lily Collins

British actress Lily Collins is set to be the envy of young women everywhere when she smooches up to Taylor ‘Jacob’ Lautner in the upcoming “Abduction”. The spy thriller marks Collins’ first major big screen role, though she did play small parts in the likes of “The Blind Side” and TVs “90210”, and with the flick garnering good early buzz, it’d seem she’s chosen wisely. In addition to “Abduction”, Collins will be seen opposite Paul Bettany in the flick “Priest”, and has also signed to play the female lead in a remake of “Romeo and Juliet”.
