Personal Trainer – How to Identify a Fake Personal Trainer

Acquiring fake diploma and degree has become a child’s play in today’s times, and we unwittingly fall prey to unqualified men and women in various professions. Going to the gym with wide-eyes and hopes of soon becoming another Stallone or Schwarzenegger you end up with disappointment when you find that the personal trainer over there is a quack. Identifying the credentials of the professionals is increasingly becoming an ordeal. Yet, it is advisable to dig out the credentials of the person, before hiring him. Failure to do so puts us in a dangerous spot, as we are prone to injuries if workouts are not performed appropriately.

Generally everyone entering a gym has this question in mind. How to identify a genuine trainer and be wary of the fakes on the prowl? Perhaps no single method could help you in your quest to identify the fake trainer. A combination of analysis, observation, questioning and references may serve to identify the authenticity of the personal trainer. We set out to do many things banking on the weight of the references. Likewise getting references from satisfied customers of the trainer would help us in avoiding the embarrassment of ending up with a fake trainer.

Analysis and observation of the situation is the best way to judge the genuineness of the claims made by a personal trainer. We find the quacks occupying the two extreme ends of the behavioral spectrum. They either tend to talk too much or keep highly reticent when spoken to. This is truly a very good lead for you to follow carefully and unravel the mystery of the trainer. Personal trainers with improper certification and training keep quiet or answer repetitively in mono-syllables when confronted with questions about things like improving the abs. They even show signs of irritation when you try to discuss

The other types of quacks are the ones who don’t shy from making tall and false claims. These trainers talk non-stop and show no qualms even when you ask them to deliver you the moon. These trainers overtly fix their eyes on your pockets and try to get you on board instantaneously, when you approach them to improve your physique and health. They promise the moon, without batting an eye-lid. Thus a personal trainer who does not assess the situation on a realistic scale and just says that anything is possible can not but be a fake trainer.

Lastly you could find out the credential of a personal trainer by directly questioning about aspects of personal training to assess his grip of the subject. After browsing valuable information on the facts about building your muscles from the internet, you could put him couple of questions directly to hear his answers. Ask him the possibilities of succeeding in your aspiration of adding 50lbs of muscle by the year end. A fake trainer, who is more concerned in making a quick buck, would always wrongly answer that this dream could be definitely fulfilled. The glib talk of a … Read More

Soldiering On

Because of my jam-packed schedule, I’ve had to get creative about when and where I get things done. On weeknights, I arrive at rehearsal (in a hospital fitness center) an hour early to practice singing. I found a somewhat isolated stairwell in which to sing. Mostly, no one can hear me, but one of the aerobics rooms shares a wall with the stairway and I can sometimes hear the instructor and the music. If I can hear her, then she can probably here me practicing “Take Me With You, Soldier Boy.”

Jacket, H&M (thrifted). Dress, MNG by Mango. Jeggings, Mossimo. Boots, Matisse. Bag, H&M. Earrings, Epcot Mexico. Sunglasses, Xhilaration.

Today, I’m at the hospital again. Between an organizational meeting for The Crucible (I’m the assistant director) and my rehearsal for Talley & Son, I managed to grab take-out for myself and Beefy and also to sneak behind the hospital for some self-portraits. No singing today, but I felt like I was dressed just right for "Soldier Boy."

I’ve only got to make it through a little over three more months of this crazy schedule and then I’m taking a breather!

Easy At Home Exercises to Get Fit Without a Gym Membership

Do you think that you need to drop a monthly payment at the rec center in order to get into great shape? The marketing machine behind these businesses have done an excellent job at convincing most people that they need access to all the high-tech equipment that only gyms could afford in order to lose fat and build muscle.

This could not be further from the truth.

For proof, look at professional gymnasts. Although they do use some pieces of equipment that most people do not have (pommel horses and parallel bars, for example), these people have gotten into fantastic shape mostly by using their own body weight as resistance for their exercises. With these easy at home exercises, you too can get into the best shape of your life without needing to drive across town to a packed gym.

The Push Up

This one's a classic and one you are doubless familiar with. But it is for good reason. The push up is one of the most effective upper exercises, and even utilizes more muscle groups than the bench press! Push ups are performed by supporting your body completely straight with your feet together and your arms slightly shoulder width apart underneath you on the ground. Slowly lower yourself down to the ground and back up again for one rep.

The Pull Up

Pull ups are another essential upper body exercise. You'll need a bar or other sturdy object that can support your body weight for this one. Grab onto the bar with an overhand grip with your hands shoulder width. Pull yourself up until your chin can touch the bar and lower yourself back down with control for one rep.

The Plank

Forget crunches, planks are the only core exercise you'll ever need to do again. Start out in the same position that you would use to do a push up but lower yourself down to your elbows. Now hold your body completely straight for as long as you can.

Squats

You do not need a barbell sagging with weights to get an awesome squat workout. In fact, you are probably better off not doing back squats due to the damage it can do to your back. Instead, focus on body weight squats to build a strong lower body. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Now bend your knees and sit back until you can go no further. Now push back up to complete one rep.

Two to three times per week, perform all four of these exercises, doing 3 sets of reps to fatigue. With these easy at home exercises, you will get in much better shape than all the gym rats without even needing to step foot outside. … Read More

In every active sport, an athlete’s ability to meet their energy requirements has a major impact on performance. Our working muscles get their energy from the breakdown of ATP. The anaerobic and aerobic energy systems provide energy for the resynthesis of ATP. This program explains these processes, and identifies the key features of the different energy systems. Various sports are used to illustrate the way the energy systems are used under different conditions. Topics covered include: Where does energy come from? The ATP-CP energy system The lactic acid system The aerobic energy system The interplay of energy systems.
