Life Fitness Treadmill a Great Piece of Exercise Equipment for Users

Life Fitness treadmills have been designed in such a way that they fit well in almost any home. Not only that, but Life Fitness treadmills are also priced to be affordable for most of the people looking for a treadmill and they have all the features that they need in order to get a good workout without having to travel anywhere.

Life Fitness treadmills are being used by numerous world champion athletes, top athletes, military personnel and health club members.

Life Fitness offers two Life Fitness treadmill lines: Life Fitness Cardio and Life Fitness Sport Cardio. There are seven different Life Fitness treadmill options in the first line (T3, T3i, T5, T5i, T7, and T9i / e) and two in the second line.

Life Fitness offers the T-series as a direct descendant of its commercial model series, starting with the standard quality T3, their 'benchmark' value model, and topping out with the Life Fitness T9i, recommended by Health Magazine.

Basic treadmills are included in the T3 series of Life Fitness treadmill models. There are two choices in this category viz the T3 and the T3i. Both of these Life Fitness treadmill models offer a large number of features including classic workouts (hill, random, manual), sport training workouts (sport training, 5K sport training, 10K sport training) and EZ Incline TM workouts. Display options on the T3 and T3i models of Life Fitness treadmill include display of elapsed time, distance, speed, incline, heart rate, calories per hour and calories burnt.

Both Life Fitness treadmill models can accomodate speeds up to 10 miles per hour and an incline of 15%. The T3i Life Fitness treadmill includes heart features including Polar Telemetry® and heart rate zone training exercises (cardio, fat burn, heart rate hill, heart rate interval and extreme heart rate). Life Fitness treadmills in the T3 series consist of a 2.5HP motor and supports inclining up to 15%.

Life Fitness treadmills in the T5 series are meant for competitive running. The main difference between a Life Fitness treadmill in the T3 series and the T5 series is that those in the T5 series are capable of speeds up to 12 miles per hour.

The Life Fitness T5 treadmill provides a wide & long walking area and a powerful drive motor. It has a few fewer programs and a simpler display than the T5i but features the same durable construction throughout.

A Life Fitness treadmill from the T7 line, adds daily training workouts to the package (30-minute walk, 3-mile jog, 45-minute cross-train) and customized workouts.

Finally, the T9 series of Life fitness treadmill models additional customizable workouts, speed interval training, pace mode, calories goal, distance goal, and time in zone goal, as well as Life Pulse TM digital heart rate monitoring. The Life Fitness T9i treadmill bears up to 400 pounds weight and features a 5/8 inch 60 x 20 inch belt with cushioned deck, 3.5 inch roller and 4.0HP motor. This treadmill series offers a top speed of 12 MPH, inclines up to … Read More

Living a Healthy Life

Living a healthy life is important as it can not only extend your life span, but it can also improve the quality of your life. Feeling physically better and having control over your own life can also greatly increase your mental health. There are some aspects of physical and mental health that are beyond an individual's control. However, there are many things that people can do to improve their quality of life and lead a satisfied life.

You can adopt many ways to improve the quality of your life. They may range from eating a healthy diet to following a routine of daily exercise and avoiding drugs and alcohol.

The information from this article will provide you with some basic guidelines for developing your own healthy living plan.

Taking a Healthy Diet

The first thing you need to do is to take a healthy diet. Everyone needs to eat right to stay healthy. It is not about losing weight, but eating the appropriate foods for your body. Drinking plenty of water, eating vegetables and fruits is one of the ways to correct your diet. Excess of red meat is harmful in the long run and may cause heart and other disorders. Thus, it is important that you include all sorts of food stuffs in your diet which make up a healthy portion.

Give your body the energy it needs from foods to stay strong and healthy. Eat proportional serving ofreads or grains, vegetables, fruits or fruit juices, meats like fish, eggs or nuts and dairy products like yogurt, cheese or milk.

Try to cut down on fatty foods such as butter, grease or oil and 'junk food' and chips or candy.

Regular Physical Activity

Staying physically active on regular basis is equally necessary in order to stay healthy. Physical activity helps people:

  • Live longer and feel better through their lives
  • Become stronger and more flexible
  • Build strong bones and fight osteoporosis
  • Prevent depression
  • Strengthens your ability to fight off illness
  • Maintain a healthy body weight

It is best to get at least one half hour of exercise thrice a week, but any amount of exercise is better than none at all. Exercise may be in form of a brisk walk, working vigorously in the yard or riding your bike.

Keep Yourself away from Harmful Drugs and Alcohol

Drugs and alcohol can destroy a perfectly healthy and fit person. It is advised that you avoid drugs and limit alcohol take to minimal. Even tobacco causes more health problems than any other drug and is the most addictive and widely used. Cutting down or stopping the use of cigarettes, cigars or chewing tobacco can save your health and money.

Too much alcohol is definitely dangerous causing liver damage, fetal alcohol syndrome and accidents. Other harmful drugs include marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin or pain pills that are not prescribed for you.

Save Money on Your Gym Membership

In these hard economic times where we're all trying our best to save money and being that little bit more careful with our hard earned cash, staying fit can be difficult. Gym memberships are often seen as a bit of a luxury and can be the first thing to face the cut during hard times. But not having a gym membership does not mean you can not still keep fit, there are lots of ways to keep fit without having for fork out each month for gym memberships.

The first thing to consider before you make the decision to cancel is wherever you have the right level of membership – many grams offer much cheaper off peak packages. If you find that you only go during the day or during other peak times, you may be able to save yourself money by switching to a cheaper package. There's no point in paying extra to use the gym in the evenings if you never go at that time.

Many people find that they need to motivation of a proper gym and can not work out at home. Rather than signing up to your local private gym or health club it's a good idea to check out your local leisure center – many also have gym facilities and are often considerably cheaper options. Many also have pay as you go options rather than having to commit to monthly memberships.

If you have your heart set on joining your local fitness or fitness first, there are a few things you can do to try to save money. The first thing is to try before you buy – signing up to a 12 month membership is quite a financial commitment so you need to make sure the gym is right for you before you sign on the dotted line. It is important to bear in mind not only wherever facilities and classes are suitable but also whether actually going to the gym is for you. Nearly all gyms now offer free passes ranged from a free day up to 7 days. If you have a friend that is already a member, make sure you speak to them first – existing members often get allocated a certain number of free guest passes to entice their friends and family along, plus if you do decide to join up they'll Usually get some kind of reward in the form of reduced membership cost of vouchers of some sort. The other thing to think about, once you have decided that the gym is for you, is to try to haggle on price. Most clubs will be able to offer some flexibility on signup fees at the very least. … Read More

Find a Pole Dancing Instructor You Can Trust… or Suffer the Injuries

Posted 4/23/09 by Yannori on www.ExpressTheSensual.com

Pole dancing is a recent addition to the US fitness industry but there have already been numerous sport specific injuries. Just type “pole dancing accident” into any YouTube or Google browser. Greg Welch M.S, a physiologist and the owner of Specifit, believes that the most likely injuries from pole dancing can occur at the rotator cuff, a group of small muscles that surround and protect the shoulder ball and cuff socket.

Overuse is the #1 reason for injury. Physical performance… requires training to prevent injury — Greg Welch

Here’s my Sensual Girls Guide to the six questions you should ask your instructor to ensure she is up to date about pole dancing fitness and safety.

1. Does she have a current Fitness Certification?

Although it’s not a requirement in every US state, a group fitness or personal training certification is essential for any fitness instructor. American Council on Exercise (ACE) and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) are two of the most common US fitness organizations. They require certified instructors to prove their fitness knowledge with written and demonstrative testing. All US certifications also require the instructor to maintain an understanding of current fitness research, and trends, through continuing education.

Benefit to you: Your instructor will help you avoid common fitness injuries with a proper warm-up, muscle specific stretching, and knowledge of first aid techniques.

2. Does she have a Pole Dancing Certification or License?

Besides a fitness certification, your instructor should have a pole dancing certification or License. Many pole specific workshops include the basic pole dancing spins and safety techniques. Some also include 100 mentoring hours with a master instructor to ensure the new teacher learns successful training methods. There are multiple pole dancing programs available that are supported by current fitness organizations. Both AFAA and ACE offer Pole Dancing Fitness and Safety continuing education for instructors.I am a Licensed Level 1 & 2 PoleCat Power Method instructor which includes the AFAA accepted workshops for Pole Dance Skills and Injury Prevention.

Benefit to you: Your pole dancing classes will be taught using a proven method that has worked safely and effectively for hundred of students.

3. Does she have a strong safety focus?

Pole dancing is based on spinning around a pole with your feet off the ground. That makes it an aerial art form with all the beauty and possible injuries from falling. Your instructor should understand aerial dance and pole spotting techniques as well as have alternative modifications for students with a wide variety of fitness levels. She should also use proper safety equipment, such as pole mats and grip aids.

Benefit to you: Your instructor will provide a safe environment, quality equipment, and be able to adjust or fully support your weight during a difficult trick.

4. Does she know poles?
